“A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles”

The Connecting Youth Cultures project of 2016 strongly reflects this quote by known adventure author Tim Cahill. The project is a joint venture between three youth serving organizations in Kingston: Pathways to Education, ISKA Youth, and Y2K. With the added support of the YMCA and Canada Exchanges, 23 youth from Kingston, 2 youth from Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, and 5 adults will be travelling to Winnipeg to meet and connect with youth from Ma Mawi Youth Centre. This will be no ordinary tourist experience, as the group will learn extensively about Indigenous culture through a traditional method of learning. Their goal is to share individual cultures and contribute to the reconciliation process that is so desperately needed in our country.
