New Website- New Youth Portal

We are so excited to announce the launch of a new Youth Portal for Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington. https://kflayouth.ca/ is a one stop shop for all the resources, community events, opportunities and projects in the KFLA area for youth under the age of 30!

This new website will also serve as our new home for Y2K. We will update our tab on the portal with all the information we normally post on this website. So be sure to visit and bookmark this new site, which will be updated regularly with new information to help keep the young people of the KFLA areas informed.

Your Guide to Youth Week 2017

National_Youth_Logo_CLRNot everyone knows that in Canada we have a week long celebration of young people called “National Youth Week” which runs every year from May 1-7. Mayor Bryan Paterson made a proclamation in 2016 making Kingston a home for National Youth Week for years to come. Y2K has teamed up with our partners at Community Living Kingston, the YMCA Kingston, the Kingston Police, the Boys & Girls Club, CRNK, Blue Canoe Productions, The Juvenis Festival, and the City of Kingston to bring free programming for youth throughout this week.

Mayor’s Youth Council

Councillors_BryanPattersonWe are so excited to finally be able to announce a new opportunity for Kingston youth! Y2K is happy to share that applications are now open for the first ever KINGSTON MAYOR’S YOUTH COUNCIL.

The mission of this council is to share ideas, opinions, and the sentiments of youth from Kingston with Mayor Paterson, in topics that are within municipal dominion. This includes topics that are in specific regards to youth, as well as topics that are unrelated to youth. The creation of this council is in the spirit of youth empowerment and the sharing of youth voice in Kingston.

10296678_671695539562687_3033200389386639812_nThe application process is open to all Kingston youth aged 14- 24 and can be completed online or printed and brought into the Youth2Kingston (Y2K) offices. Application period is open until April 28th, 2017 and successful candidates, if selected, will be contacted for interviews.
